Jam-o, Bers & bug eyes; McPhee 2011
Monday Musings

Currently eating pan fried mushroom ravioli.
I do need to try my hand at some hand done ravioli.
I have two more three day weekends coming up-I may need to work that into my schedule.

I just put two loaves of zucchini bread in the oven and will clean up that mess to make another with the cream cheese frosting--YUM-M!

What you see next to this text is a photo from last summer.  We were at McPhee reservoir with Mom & Poppie--there was a storm rolling in.  Jamie is the best.  He just hangs out with us and is fun.  I miss Colorado and really hope to make it back this summer.  Jamie will still be in Europe--I wish I could make it over there to spend a few weeks traveling.  That would be amazing fun!

Amber takes great photos with that camera around her neck.  I think she should send me some photos from that trip.  I'd like to see them.  Hopefully she'll be able to make it up to CO if I'm able to go so we can hang out and see old stuff.  There is GREAT old stuff to be seen in Colorado.

Tomorrow is the 100th year anniversary of Arizona's statehood.  That is pretty rad.  They moved the dates of Gold Rush Days this year to next weekend.  I wonder if it had anything to do with the statehood business?

…in other news I bought Scooby Snacks to take to work with me this week.  am I excited???  Yes! Of course I am, sillies!!

Don't they look just amazing??? I haven't tried them yet, but how can one go wrong with cinnamon graham SCOOBY SNACKS?

I also bought a box of Nilla wafers.  Seriously, Nilla wafers and Nutella--yup, that sounds good too.

Oh, and the bug-eye glasses in the photo above--casualty of the TSA.  They ransacked my bags on my last Cali trip and broke the glasses and did some other screwy things in there.  UGH

Lastly…as I was finishing up in the kitchen I received these:

Thanks Poppie!  These are great :)

Happy Birthday Ma :)

This is Ma. She is obviously not running quickly enough to escape this huge, ancient boulder that is hurtling toward her. Luckily, Indiana Jones was nearby and came to her rescue.

This is Ma with Tiny Cute Moose. They are preparing for a thrilling journey through Matterhorn Mountain in a bobsled. Life doesn't get much more thrilling than this.

But, life can get wetter than a bobsled ride! This is Ma after plummeting down into the brier patch beneath Chickapin Hill. I think she really enjoyed the splash from this mountain!

Finally, to honor Ma on her birthday...a shot in her lovely floppy hat which prevented what could have been a very painful (and might I mention unsightly) sunburn on the top of her head!

Here are a couple of other shots...one playing cards with A.L., Ma loves games!! The last shot is of her and Poppie dancing at Chrissy's wedding. They do like to dance!

Hope you had a great birthday Ma!!!
: )

Good times!

I've been away...  :)  On 19 June I flew down to SoCal for a loooo-o-o-ong weekend at Disneyland!!

I happened to come down with a nasty bronchial infection before I left--which was simply yucky! Thankfully I was able to see Dr. Chaput before I left and she set me up for healing.

When I arrived, I landed in a major heat wave!  The temps the first three days were in the 100s and it was nearly unbearable.  The absolute best time of day was after supper.  The temperatures would drop down and the crowds left during the heat leaving the Park for us to really enjoy!

As you can see from this photo...the sun was blazing!  My poor feet were blistered and thankfully, with some Solarcaine and SPF 60 they didn't really hurt and healed up super great.  Looks like I'll have Chaco feet for the rest of the summer :)

You may have noticed in the first photo the poster under the welcome sign to the Parks is a notice for the brand new attraction:  Toy Story Mania at DCA--yeowzers!  I think it is GREAT!!!  I coerced Ma to wait in line four times in a row one day...only about 45 minutes at a time...not too bad since the line was up to over three hours at Park opening!!

As you can see...we ran into a little trouble exploring the Temple of the Forbidden Eye...Thank goodness Dr. Indiana Jones was there to help us out!

Ma kinda froze, we had to unwrap her from around that giant boulder!

We met up with friends one day and hit a few attractions (including Splash Mountain!!) before meeting up with some other friends for a very, very tasty supper at the Blue Bayou.

This was my first time back since the big menu change...prices are definitely higher--but the food was excellent!  Plus, not much can beat the atmosphere of eating inside Pirates of the Caribbean!!

All in all Disneyland was lots of fun!  I didn't get photos of all the Indiana Jones clues...because I forgot.  I did get lots of other photos, though.  I'm sure I'll post more eventually.

Now, to lok forward to Walt Disney World this fall!!!
