deb & johanna: after an eve of cooking and lounging

Why do I blog?  I was thinking about this as I was mulling a blog post.  I really don't know.  I do it for me, mostly.  There was a time when there were a few folks who followed this moose and my meandering mind, I learned from their blogs and we bantered.  It is a nice benefit, a good part of blogging.

I think, I've discovered, why I enjoy blogging is it is just a tiny little well for the outpouring of the ideas or thoughts or puns or silly stories or whatever I dump out onto these blog 'pages'.  

I journal.  I scrapbook. I keep the family history (not as well as I should).  I enjoy these things as well.  

Blogging is different.   I can pop up a window and whip out a blog post in five to fifteen minutes depending on the length/content.  No supplies or effort, just pull some photos out of iPhoto let the words flow out the grey and go.  

Photo with Johanna was after we made pizzas, had some Mike's and chat the evening away.  She is ah-mazing!  The evening was just what I needed.  God knows sometimes--exactly what will fill me up!  It was much more than the pizza and drink---talking about the sermon, how He is moving in our CGs, other communities, lives and everything!  Good times!

Now, I am tired.  Very tired.  G'night.

Double Header

Goodness! As you can see above, I have a "double header". Yesterday I noticed the header photo/title had disappeared. I went in to fix it---deleted the old and added this back in. Wha-la! Now I have two.

Hopefully not for long :)

EDIT: Well, fancy that. I decided to just eliminate the element and start over. It solved the problem. Tee Hee. Back to resting.

So, it is the first of July...and I've not blogged in a very, very long time.

Any real reason-no. Plenty of excuses.

So, I decided this morning to jump back in.

Today, that means giving you a photo of flowers in Victoria.

Comment Instruction

Here is a brief tutorial on comments. I have received a couple of requests to clarify how to leave them.

Leaving comments in Blogger is quite simple. The owner of the blog can choose who (if anyone) can leave comments and decide if the comments will be moderated before posting or not.

If you want to leave a comment:
1. Click on the comment link (it will highlight when you roll your cursor over it) below the post you want to leave a comment for

2. Type your comment in the box

3. Scroll down, you may need to type in some spam prevention letters called "Word Verification"
(if you're a blogger and have not yet enabled this feature, I recommend it--prevents random INAPPROPRIATE comments or comments with INAPPROPRIATE links in them)

4. Scroll down and choose your identity:
If you have a google account it will automatically appear if you are signed into google, if not it will allow you to sign in right there

There is an option for open ID which will allow you to use your LiveJournal, WordPress, TypePad or AIM username if you have one

If you have none of the above, you can choose "Name/URL"--just type in your name

Some blogs allow "Anonymous" comments as well, if that is what you want click that option

5. Once you have typed your comment, done the word verification and chosen an identity click "Publish Your Comment" It will then appear in the comment column or at the top of the pop-out comment box (depending on which is enabled on that blog)


The folks who have inquired thus far have been family...my blog, Mammas Meandering Mind and A Branch on the Tree are enabled for all of the above identities. Sleeping Ute Mountain and Beginning a New Journey are enabled to allow Google and Open ID.

Signing up for a google account is astonishingly easy if that's what you'd like to do.

Happy Belated Blog Birthday

I was just perusing my blogger: in draft stuff and noticed that I created this little blog one year ago...yesterday. I haven't done much to personalise things...perhaps this year I'll work on making some cool buttons or something. Seems my sister Amber has acquired some serious Blogger skills in the few months she's been up and running. (way to go sis!)

The photo isn't actually from 28 May 2007...but close. Anyway, I think it's kinda pretty and fits the occasion. Thanks for stopping by...leave notes :)
